William is an accomplished leader having held previous executive roles within an Energy Consultancy, Scottish Government and the world’s number one renewable energy developer.

Whilst at ScottishPower Renewables, William was the project manager with a 100% consent ratio to deliver more than 10 wind farm projects. Overseeing planning, grid, land, aviation and environmental issues.
Whilst at the Scottish Government, William was the Head of the Energy Consents Unit delivering 68 determinations in 3 years relating to wind, BESS, solar and grid. As Deputy Director, he was the SRO for Energy Strategy Refresh, Onshore Wind Policy Statement and the Energy Position Statement.
Whilst at Natural Power, William was the Managing Director for Consulting in Europe who had P&L responsibility for the service lines of Consenting and Environment Onshore and Offshore, Advisory, Analytics and Geospatial. William was also the project Sponsor for Buchan Offshore Wind, Codling and multiple onshore renewable projects.
William has over 20 years’ experience in Project Management and the technical delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments, environmental permitting, grid, aviation, land and commercial contracts.
After starting his career in geospatial at an environmental charity, he moved to ScottishPower Renewables where he became a developer who consented multiple projects that are now operational. On completion of his MBA, he was tasked with developing the Demand Side Response business in 2017 for Iberdrola where he developed products in energy trading, BESS, EV charging and oversaw the capacity market bid and deliver process. He then went back to his renewables roots in 2019 where he led the Energy Consents Unit within the Scottish Government to deliver a high number of determinations. Latterly in the Government, he took up the post as Deputy Director for Electricity, Strategy and Energy Consents working to and for the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Climate Change. More recently he held P&L responsibility for the consultancy business Natural Power, where he oversaw the service lines of Onshore Consenting and Environment, Offshore Consenting and Environment, Geospatial, Analytics and Advisory (Due Diligence). He set up ReAmp with Alison in July 2024.
William uses his strong communication skills to apply his renewable knowledge with a pragmatic approach to achieve solutions.
